We are a Houston, Texas based band playing what we call Texas roots music - a mix of Celtic, jug, bluegrass, old time country and folk music. We play original songs mixed with tunes by our favorite musicians including The Carter Family, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, as well as jug versions of more recent pop tunes. The Traveling Murphys will have you laughing, clapping and your toes tapping with a high energy performance. The harmonies and arrangements are unique yet nostalgic. We have played both Celtic and Old Time themed festivals as well as clubs and private functions all over the United States and internationally. Kevin Murphy is featured on banjo and harmonica, Darcy Bryan-Wilson plays pennywhistle, bodhran and contraption, Rosy Murphy plays guitar. When availabe, Lucia Murphy joins in on vocals and percussion.
